Simple Art Collections

Software for cataloguing an art collection and publishing exhibitions from it.

Simple Art Collections is a web application that keeps a catalogue of artworks — title, artist, year, medium, dimensions, provenance and photographs — and turns chosen parts of that catalogue into public web pages. It is operated by Remics Software Technologies and is currently used by one art collector.

What the application does

Catalogues artworks. Each piece is recorded with its artist, date, materials, size, description and exhibition history.
Imports photographs from Google Drive. The collector puts photographs of their artworks in a Drive folder and lists the details in an accompanying spreadsheet; the application reads that folder, matches each photograph to its artwork, and stores it in the catalogue.
Publishes exhibition pages. The collector selects works and publishes them as a public web page, each at its own address on this site.
Is operated by conversation. Rather than administration screens, the collector instructs an AI assistant connected to this service, which carries out the catalogue changes on their behalf.

How the application uses Google account data

The collector signs in with Google so the application can confirm which account owns the catalogue. To import photographs it reads the image files in the Google Drive folder the collector nominates, and it creates that import folder and its metadata spreadsheet. Google data is used only to provide these features: it is never sold, never used for advertising, and never used to train AI models. The privacy policy sets this out in full.

Reading this site

No account and no sign-in are needed to read this page, the privacy policy, the terms of service, or any exhibition page published from a collection. Signing in is only for the collector managing their own catalogue.

Because each collection is private unless its owner publishes from it, this site has no directory of collections: published exhibition pages are shared by their own web addresses.
